The Rallento Way
More than a stay: A way of connecting with Piemonte.
“Rallento was created for travellers who want more than a beautiful place to sleep. We bring together characterful homes, thoughtful guests and the local people who make Piemonte feel alive.”
Four people, one local network
Behind Rallento are four people living in Monferrato, each with different strengths and backgrounds, but one shared belief: that beautiful homes, local knowledge and genuine hospitality belong together.
We believe that when people discover Piemonte with care, the experience becomes richer for everyone: for the guests who stay, the homeowners who open their doors, and the local people, places and makers who give this region its soul.
Together, we combine design sensitivity, property and investment insight, guest care, practical support and a trusted network of people in Piemonte.
We know that a stay is not only shaped by the house itself, but by everything around it: the arrival, the light, the table, the village, the restaurant, the food & wine, the people you meet and the feeling that someone has thought about the details before you arrive.
What Sets Us Apart
Carefully Selected Homes
Every Rallento home is chosen for more than availability. We look at atmosphere, location, quality, owner mindset and the experience it can offer to the right guests.
Personally Arranged Access
Our local network is not a public directory. We personally match guests with trusted local people and experiences, protecting the quality for everyone involved.
More Than a Rental Platform
Rallento connects stays, homeowners, local partners and future property journeys. It is a curated way to experience Piemonte, and a thoughtful way to become part of it.
Our Team
Ilse Corbée
I fell for Piemonte long before I lived here, first of all as a place to relax while working in the Zurich financial sector. The slower pace, it’s history visible in its homes and villages, and the sense that life could revolve around family rather than a fast-paced career are what make it such a special place for me.
Through my background in corporate HR, I bring structure and planning to our work at Rallento. I help assess the strength and depth of our local network and how it all combines into our vision, always with an eye on the practical and the human side of every decision.
I am happiest when a decision leads to a good outcome for everyone involved, home owners, visitors and our local partners alike. Always with the exquisite vineyard views, a good bottle of wine, and the kind of food only Piemonte can offer close at hand.
Martijn Corbée
I have lived in the Netherlands, Sweden, India and Switzerland, but Piemonte is the place that truly feels like home.
In 2023, I started my own property management business for holiday homes in Monferrato. The focus has always been personal and practical, making sure both owners and guests feel well looked after. Several of these homes are now part of Rallento.
With a background in general and relationship management, I focus on building trusted connections with homeowners and local partners. My role is to help create a strong local network around every stay, so that homes are cared for properly, guests feel supported and the experience of Piemonte remains personal, rooted and never generic.

I was drawn to Piemonte by the landscape. The sense of space, the changing colours of the seasons and the character of old houses are what make it such a special place for me.
My background combines engineering, more than a decade of project management in construction and restoration, and interior design. Through Studio Sernella, I now guide people through renovation, helping them make choices that are practical, thoughtful and true to the house.
At Rallento, I bring that same eye to the homes we select and shape the visual world of the brand through the website, photography, styling and content.
I am happiest with biodynamic vegetables on the table and a glass of natural wine from one of the young local pioneers shaping the future of this region.

In Piemonte, centuries of building knowledge are still visible in its homes. That is what drew me in: lime mortars, old stonework and craftspeople who understand how to repair rather than replace. After years in construction, project management and restoration, I now work with that same mindset through Studio Sernella.
At Rallento, I bring a practical eye to the homes and connect skilled local craftspeople with homeowners who care about quality and the character of an old building. I am also often the calm one in the room, with a good sense of proportion and an eye for detail.
Piemonte won me over with its rolling hills, the Alps beyond them and a good bottle of wine on the table.
